India is one of the most polluting countries globally, so it is good news to hear that it too is joining a series of countries that have started producing energy from waste. In a small village in the country, they started importing waste from the neighboring cities and making energy from it.
The Indian government has invested about $ 18.5 million in the project, showing India’s sharp change regarding everything related to green energy. The factory is planned to process 300 tonnes of solid waste per day and generate 3 megawatts of electricity from synthetic gas, which will travel to India and the rural population in the area. Before opening the factory, the engineers performed in-depth tests and discovered that no part of turning the waste into energy would create air pollution.
